This restaurant was recommended by several people, so we just had to try it. The duck is the most popular item on the menu, but it wasn't quite as juicy or as flavorful as we had hoped, considering the price, and after all the hype. However, the Pea Tips dish was very tasty, with just the right amount of garlic. And our favorite dish was definitely the Poached and Sliced Beef in Chili Oil. Overall, the food is pretty good. Our waitress seemed a little impatient trying to get us to order, but other than that the service overall was prompt and attentive. The ambiance is not quite as beautiful as the pictures on Yelp appear to make it, but it's really not a deal breaker. Would we come back? Short answer...yes.

I have been this Chinese restaurant since it started opened in Arcadia. Really delicious Chinese food and clean environment. The roast duck is the best! You have to try the duck~

A lovely, upscale Chinese restaurant. The service is polite and smiley, and the dining room is sparkling clean and pretty. Definitely get the Roast Duck - it's delicious and kind of their main attraction. Mung Bean Jelly makes a lighter, salad-like starter, and Bang Bang Chicken is great in that sweet sesame-chili broth. Tastes even better the morning after when the meat has time to marinate. Wok Fried Bamboo Shoots are fine, but some of the shoots are tough and thick. I love bamboo, but this one could be better. Be prepared to feast on a deep tureen of Hot Chili Oil Poached Sole Fillet. The slices are fish so silky and covered in that warm numbing spice. A banquet of a meal, with a huge menu. The execution is clean and refined, and they keep the spiciness level present but manageable. Great meal, best for special occasions with a bigger party, but good for feasting alone as well.

Overall, Meizhou Dongpo has a good atmosphere and is accommodating for different tastes (like a different sauce for the cold noodles for those who couldn't eat spicy food). Their food is good and their service responsive. We ordered the spicy chicken which has fried potato wedges (a little like fries) and the roast duck, which tbh was a bit disappointing. The roast duck does not include the rack unless you order the combo (which by the time we got there, 6:30pm, was sold out). I enjoyed eating here and would come back again with friends as the service was good, but I wouldn't say that its food is absolutely great.
